Meet the designer
This mono design was created by me, Beth Davage, from Portsmouth.
As I already create digital illustrations for everyday mums, I realised how popular both monochrome and leopards were in children’s “fashion” so I definitely had to incorporate that into my design. Monochrome is known as unisex and whilst I was creating this monochrome design I thought,
“What would my audience really relate to?” And that was making sure I don’t just create something for one set gender.
I was so lucky to win this competition, which still doesn’t seem real to me. I finally get to show my designs off to the world and put them to good use. I saw this competition via
Instagram whilst working and had also been tagged in the comments a couple of times by friends and people who have had designs from me in the past. I entered on a whim, a sudden desire to play around with some ideas. At first I had no idea on the outcome because having such a big company just notice my designs was a massive thing to me.
Designing for My Babiie (Your Babiie) has been so surreal and an opportunity I'm so glad I was a part of. When you spend so much time dreaming of creating products for people to see and then a company like My Babiie comes along and makes it possible, it’s a huge deal.
I’m so thankful this competition ran and I’m so glad I didn’t put off entering. I can’t wait to see parents walking around with my design. Seeing the care that goes into creating these products puts a perspective of how lucky I have been. I’m so excited for the future of these designs and I hope you love them as much as I do.
